6:30 PM WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Before the season even started, the Lycoming College athletic program was dealt a tough loss on Saturday, Aug. 28, when longtime public address announcer Dick Zimmerman passed away at age 73. Zimmerman had served as the Warriors’ PA announcer for the past 37 years, joining legendary coach Frank Girardi in his first year on the corner of Packer and Mulberry streets.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - A lot of questions for the Lycoming College football team will begin to be answered on Saturday when it opens up its 2010 campaign on the road at Rowan. Needing to replace 10 starters from the 4-6 2009 team, the Warriors will face a stiff test in the Profs, who finished 7-3 overall.

DEFENSE
Defensively, the Warriors’ signature 4-3 scheme will face several question marks up front, where the lone returning starter is Marascio. However, the tri-captain is a good piece to have in place, as the lineman made 76 tackles as a sophomore, including 14.5 for a loss, which was second in the MAC.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Though the Mike Clark era is entering its third year at Lycoming College, it may just be that the 2010 season will be the start of a new period of Warrior football. Quarterback Colin Dwyer, who was critical in the Warriors’ run to the 2008 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Playoffs in Clark’s first year at the helm, is gone and so are five starters on each side of the ball and the punter from the 2009 season in which the Warriors finished 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the MAC.
